Turning 65 opens the door to Medicare. As you approach this time, you will receive a flood of mail about plans and products. The Basics of Medicare

Medicare Part A and Part B (original Medicare) - Helps cover hospital stays, preventive care, doctor visits and other medical services. They can be combined with a Medicare Supplement Insurance plan or a stand-alone prescription drug plan (Medicare Part D), to help pay for services and medications.
Medicare Part C (Medicare Advantage) - Provides the same coverage and services as Medicare Parts A and/or B, but offers additional benefits that vary by plan. Medicare Part D (prescription drug plans) - These plans help cover the cost of your prescription drugs. Medicare Supplements - Can only be added to Medicare if you have Parts A and B to help cover cost of Medicare-covered services. Medicare Notice: We do not offer every plan available in your area.
